In 2014, we worked with Wakefield Lit Fest to create Festival In A Day. The project was a celebration of 150 years since the founding of the original Ossett Observer newspaper in 1864. We programmed a full day of creative activities to engage Ossett people and visitors to the town in their heritage and the telling of their stories.
The event included a story walk, a poetry writing pigeon race, a printing workshop, a book swap, poets on public transport and a pop up museum. We had over 1000 visitors to the town during the course of the day and worked with many local people to capture their stories and memories of Ossett.
