We love our Swap Shops. The idea is that anyone who makes anything can bring it and swap it for something that someone else has made. The only proviso is that no money should change hands. We’ve run several of these events and are always astounded at people’s creativity and generosity.

Many people make wonderful things or just make for the joy of making and we thought it would be interesting to see who was out there cooking up pickles in their kitchens, knitting up a storm in their armchairs or painting for the love of it. Our Swap Shops have introduced us to some wonderful crafters and brought about much fun.

To date we have held Swap Shops at Eller Coffee in Ossett, at the Flock To Ossett day and in a Pop-Up Shop at Wood Street Market in Wakefield.
For Wakefield LitFest in 2014 we ran an adaptation of our Creative Swap Shop by way of a Book Swap. Again, no money changed hands.
